Daily Silicone Care & Maintenance

Part 1 - Silicone Tableware Cleaning and Maintenance

Q: Why does silicone tableware absorb odors and get stained?

A: Silicone has a porous surface that opens when exposed to heat, allowing odors and colors to be absorbed.

Besovida uses 100% food-grade silicone and applies extra effort on the surface to minimize these issues. Solutions include:

  • Use citric acid to reduce odors.

To prevent odors and staining:

  1. Avoid storing strong-smelling or colorful foods.
  2. Clean immediately after use, leaving the lid open to allow odors to dissipate and prevent staining.

▶ How to clean odors, stains, or stickiness:

Note: Before using the following methods, please remember to remove the top and bottom rings of the bottle, leaving only the silicone bottle body.
The silicone fork and spoon series should only use Method 1, Method 2, or Method 4.

1. Sodium Percarbonate Heating Method (For Color and Odor Removal)

  • Fill the silicone cup with 70-80°C water, add 1-2 spoons of sodium percarbonate, and soak overnight for improvement.

2. Soaking Method (For Color, Odor, and Stickiness Removal)

  • Boil water, add baking soda and white vinegar, and soak the silicone item for over 1 hour. Clean with a sponge and air dry.

3. Oven SPA Method (For Color and Odor Removal)

  • Place citric acid, baking soda, and water inside the cup, cover the stained area, then heat in an oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes.

4. Softening Method (For Stickiness Removal)

  • Spray with alcohol to soften oils, sprinkle with baking soda and water, and scrub with a vegetable sponge.

Regular cleaning with hot water helps open the silicone's pores and reduce odor absorption.

Q: Why does silicone tableware become sticky after long-term use?

A: Silicone has an affinity for oils, so over time, it can become sticky and shiny.

To address stickiness:

  1. Clean thoroughly after use to avoid oil buildup.
  2. Use weekly deep cleaning with hot water, baking soda, and vinegar to remove oil buildup.

For stubborn grease, try soaking the silicone, spraying with alcohol, and scrubbing with salt or baking soda.

Part 2- Silicone Usage Instructions

Q: What appliances can be used to heat silicone tableware?
A: BesoVida Bowls can withstand temperatures from -30°C to 200°C, so they can be used in a rice cooker, oven, microwave, or air fryer!

If using a rice cooker, it is recommended to place a metal rack under the bowl during use.

BesoVida Bowls can be used in a general dish dryer, dishwasher, or sterilizer, but it is not recommended to use an ultraviolet sterilizer, as prolonged exposure can cause discoloration and accelerate silicone aging.

Q: Can silicone tableware be heated directly on a gas stove?
A: No, direct heat from a gas stove can cause the product to crack and degrade.

Q: Does silicone have heat retention properties?
A: Silicone material itself has slower heat conduction, which can effectively slow down heat loss. It has better heat retention compared to other materials like glass or plastic, but it cannot be considered as having excellent insulation.

If you store hot food and close the lid, the heat will stay warmer for a longer period of time!

Q: Is the silicone bowl leak-proof?
A: BesoVida Silicone Bowls are designed without extra rings to secure the bowl; instead, the elasticity of silicone allows it to tightly seal for a leak-proof feature. When filled with food, ensure the bowl stays flat to prevent leakage during normal use like walking or riding. However, since the lid has air holes, avoid pressing on the lid when carrying liquids like soup to prevent spillage.

For the BesoVida Fat Bowl, the lid area is larger. Here are some tips for securely closing it:

Part 3- BesoVida Bottle Cleaning and Maintenance

Q: How do I clean the BesoVida Bottle?
A: It is recommended to clean it daily. Once cleaned, make sure it feels non-slippery to ensure it is thoroughly clean!

BesoVida Bottle FAQ

Can the BesoVida Bottle go in the dishwasher?
A: It is not recommended to place it with unwashed dishes in the dishwasher.
Since the bottom of the BesoVida Bottle is deeper, and you can't be sure of the cleaning conditions in each dishwasher, there may be incomplete cleaning. For a thorough clean, reach into the bottom with your hand. If using a soft brush, ensure no slippery residue remains after washing for better cleaning and peace of mind. However, if your dishes are already cleaned, it can go in the dishwasher for a more thorough cleaning.

Part 4 - Jurassic Dinosaur Learning Plate Usage Questions

Q: How can I make the BesoVida Jurassic Dinosaur Learning Plate's suction more stable?
A: Wipe the suction cup and surface with a damp cloth. While the surface is still damp, press the plate onto it for better suction.

Q: How should I store the BesoVida Jurassic Dinosaur Learning Plate?
A: When not in use, place the plate with the suction cup facing down on a flat surface to avoid deformation.

Q: What should I do if the suction cup is deformed and the suction is weak?
A: Gently bend the deformed area in the opposite direction to flatten it. If more severe, clean the suction cup, place it suction-side down on a flat surface, and the suction will gradually return to normal.

Q: What is the capacity of the plate?
A: The Stegosaurus model holds 475ml, and the Triceratops model holds 415ml.
